From loss control to risk management, from National Preparedness Month to Fire Prevention Week, insurance social media posts is full of serious tips about serious topics.
That’s what makes March such a refreshing opportunity for you to engage with your followers in a different (fun!) way.
Every month of the year is filled with some fun observances, but in March they seem to come to a head. Here we offer a few suggestions for fun social media posts that you can publish in March. You might be surprised at your followers’ enthusiastic response!
Insurance Social Media Ideas for March
- St. Patrick’s Day. Yes, it’s obvious—but when you’re running a busy insurance agency, it’s also easy to forget! So make note of March 17, and give some thought to how you’re going to celebrate it on social media. Take a photo of some shamrocks, create a simple image with a fun Happy St. Patrick’s Day message, or whip up a pan of green Rice Krispies treats for the office (be sure to share a photo of them on your social media platforms before they mysteriously vanish from the break room!).
- Did you know that March kicks off with National Peanut Butter Lovers Day? This is a great chance to share a short video of your office dog enjoying a spoonful of peanut butter or share your favorite peanut-buttery recipe.
- Read Across America Week happens every March, during the week in which Dr. Seuss’s birthday (March 2) falls. If your agency has been looking for a fun community activity to participate in, you might contact local school or daycares to see if they’re looking for volunteers to read to the kids during this week. Make sure to take a picture of each participating staffer holding the book they’re going to be reading!
- You might think that every day is pie day… but only 3/14 is Pi Day! This fun day can really take your social media to the next level. You might even want to make it a weeklong campaign (maybe each staffer shares a favorite pie recipe, or a photo of a delicious pie) that peaks on March 14 with a mouth-watering photo of a pie buffet in your lunchroom. (Actually… maybe that’s an idea we’ll try out this year, too!)
You are an insurance professional every day of the year, and it shows in your social media. But remember that social media is, above all, about being social—and fun is a huge part of doing just that. Pick a couple of days this month to push your social media to the social max. You’ll be glad you did!
